Modular Furniture Series 4- Crew Quarters

Sorry. It's taken me forever to post this here.

This is a completely modular furniture set that complements the shelving units from Cargo Bay Series 4 and Cargo Bay Series 4- Expansion 5 (but you don´t need the other sets to make this one work, and you don't have to use them together). Like the previous sets, it takes advantage of the repository technique. The first set includes 38 objects, 9 recolors of the base texture, 9 recolors of the small LCARS panel texture, 9 recolors of the large LCARS panel texture and 4 recolors of the chair.

A few notes about the project: Series 4 is a bit of a misnomer. Prior to this set, I've only made two other modular furniture sets. But as it complements the Cargo Bay Series 4 set, it seemed incongruent to name it Series 3. Unless otherwise noted, objects are base-game.

The focus of this set is to create realistic crew quarters, kitchens, bridges, etc. The furniture is designed to be stacked together, giving your sims' crew quarters a built-in look, for more realistic sets and backdrops. As I am more of a storyteller/ dollhouser than an actual player, my main focus was on how good the objects look in-game, but they have been thoroughly playtested and work well for players who focus on gameplay, too.

Other sets are planned, and I have two partially completed as I type this. Expansions will include modular kitchen, bathroom, bridge/command center, nursery, pet, and hobby sets. This will most likely be my last upload before my vacation, but more sets will follow in late June.

Note: all files have been Compressorized.

Without further ado, the objects:

Matresses

These are simply Maxis matresses, without the bases, and with place-anywhere BHAVS. Inspiration for these matresses came partially from Atavera´s old bunk bed, but mine improve on the idea. They can be used with the bases included in this set or with any other base.

Details:
Price: Single §250, Double §500
Polys: Single 952 , Double 1508 (medium poly)
Recolorable subsets: Bedding (matte)
Egghead stuff: These are just everyday old matresses with place-anywhere BHAVS, so you can stack them on the bases without using cheats. The upper matress's bedsingle: trans node has been moved upward. This means it retains its original animations.

Single and Double Bases

Individual bases for your beds.

Important: The single bed base is the master object for the base and small LCARS panel materials.

Details:
Price: Single §500, Double §1000
Polys: 128 (low poly)
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
2 objects, 9 recolors
Egghead stuff: The upper units have a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats.

Bunk Bed Bases

Bunk bed bases. Stackable, useable with matresses or Klingon sleeping surfaces, and can be mixed and matched with the stackable regeneration tanks.

Details:
Price: Base §1500, Upper §5500
Polys: Base A & B 96, Base C&D 64,Upper A&B 44 (low poly)
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
6 objects

Regeneration Tanks

A self-contained sleeper unit for Icthians and other aquatics. There are two versions: stackable (compatible with bunk bed bases) and double.

Details:
Price: Base §1200, Upper § 1200, Double §2500
Polys: Base 1284, Upper 1256, Double 1934 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
5 objects
Egghead stuff: The upper units have a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats. I had to use the Maxis water subset to get the water textures/materials to animate correctly, so the poly count is a bit high. The relax and sleep slots in the upper units have been moved up.

Klingon Sleeping Surfaces

Basically, a metal plank your sims can sleep on. Can be places on any of the bed bases.

Details:
Price: §200
Polys: 24 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte)
2 Objects
Egghead stuff: The surfaces have a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats. The upper sleep slot has been moved. The relax option has been removed; Maxis did a half-assed job on the bed CRES and no matter where you move the relax slot, the sim floats freely a good distance above the object. Who would relax on a hard metal plank, anyway?

Hibernator

For the deep sleeper. Works like a coffin. Also looks good in sickbays and science labs.

Details:
Price: §1200
Polys: 448 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
1 object
Egghead stuff: It's just a coffin. I cloned from The Coffin Crew´s SÖMNIG Vampire Sleeper; it has a better skeleton and BHAVs than the Maxis coffin. It looks best in the center of the room. The lid is a bit tall and if you place it nest to a wall, the lid clips into the wall in the open position.

Data Console and Desk

Desks to do your research at.

Important: The data console is the master object for the base and large LCARS panel material.

Details:
Price: Data Console §500, Simple Desk §300
Polys: Data Console 108, Simple Desk 28 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
2 objects
Egghead stuff: Nothing special. The work like dining tables

Lockers

Lockers to put your clothes in.

Details:
Price: §500
Polys: Lower 100, Upper 88 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
2 objects
Egghead stuff: They´re cloned from the UNI locker. You need UNI to get them to work. The upper locker has a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats.

Bookcases

Bookcases for your books.

Details:
Price: §300
Polys: Base 332, Upper 296 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
2 objects
Egghead stuff: They´re cloned from the FT bookcase. You need FT to get them to work. The upper bookcase has a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats.

Nightstand

Works like an end table

Details:
Price: §200
Polys: 48 (low poly)
Recolorable subsets: base (matte)
1 object
Egghead stuff: It's just a nightstand.

Wallpanels

Panels for the bare spots on your walls. The heights align with the simple desk and the locker (the locker-height panels can also be placed above the bunk bed bases or bookcases).

Details:
Price: §200
Polys: Desk Height 28, Locker Height 56 (low poly).
Recolorable subsets: base (matte) and LCARS panel (backlit)
10 objects
Egghead stuff: With the exception of the mirrors, the wallpanels use a place-anywhere BHAV and can be stacked without using cheats. I tried to fix the mirrors, but Maxis did a half-assed job when writing the standing mirror globals and I couldn't for the life of me write a BHAV that worked. The mirrors can be stacked, but you'll need to use move_objects on.

Utility Chair

An updated, better version of my Defiant-class crew quarters chair. The mesh has been fixed up a bit and overall it looks better.

Details:
Price: §300
Polys: 960 (medium poly)
Recolorable subsets: seat (matte)
1 object
Egghead stuff: Dude, it's a chair.

These are a few bedrooms I threw together using this set:
